Possibly a K9 but he says he'll be happy with a good used one as well. He's found me a K2, I'm looking at it tomorrow.

Andy and meself went to see that K2 thou yesterday. Its at a car dealers near to where Andy lives. They've dropped the price recently from 3 grand to 2,600. I offered 2 grand. The garage owner said he won't go less than 2,400. The bloke who spoke to us went to school with Andy, so it was a school reunion bike buying sort of weird experience. Spoke to Steve at K2 and he said bike in his black book is 2,800 px and 3,800 dealer price on a 19,000 mile 52 reg. This is 24,000 miles 52 reg with full service history. Its tidy but the battery is fooked, the tax ran out in July 2007 (thats how long they've had it) and theres no MOT. So b4 I've started if I paid 2,400 then about another £150 to put on road, might need fork seals too standing that long, plus tyres will need checking for flat spots, brake lines possibly knackered, it don't do bikes good to stand for a long time unmoved. Also Steve said K1/K2 gixers are a bitch to sell on. The best ones are K5/K6 thous. You can sell them all day long. So I've walked away. But if they had seriously accepted my offer, I would now be a K2 thou owner.

sometimes its good to walk away.there are plenty of bikes out there...................BUT that one could have been a good deal at 2 grand
for £2400 would he not have put MOT and made sure it was roadworthy!!!! then its not a bad deal
Independent Dealer £3,055 Private Good £2,765 Private Poor £2,135 Part Exchange £2,280
From MCN You can get a Suzuki GSX-R1000 for £3000 if you look hard and buy privately. That’s a stunning deal. But the 2002 R1 and Fireblade also make superb buys on the used market – and the Blade’s a little better put together than the Suzuki. It’s still a great deal especially as most people want the later, prettier versions of the Suzuki GSX-R1000

Does it matter what other people think of them? It what does for you and what’s wrong with a bike you can blat round back lanes on a Sunday and tour on all week long? And if it keeps her in doors happy its got to be a winner
