Hi all! Hope everyone is well, sorry I've not been on in ages, but have been locked away in a darkened garage for months on end building this....... Anyhows, for those who are interested, it runs a K2 GSX-R600 lump. We manufactured most of the bits for it, billet ally hubs and uprights, carbon fibre bodywork, real sexy exhaust etc etc. Megasquirt ecu, touchscreen dash, carbon fibre airbox and runners, custom throttlebody again from billet ally and the list goes on and on. Took it to Silverstone.... the weekend after Formula One, which was really cool cos everything was still set up for the F1. We got the Red Bull F1 teams garage... Got through scrutineering, did far better on that than most other teams (FIA scruntineers so they were really on the ball), got through tilt and noise tests, then the charging ciruit gave up, and there wasn't enough power to run the ECU. So we came home and sulked. So that's where I have been for the past few months! Will put up some more pics when I can be arsed uploading them

Really interested as to the megasquirt setup mate. Looks like you've had both fun and skinned knuckles with that one! Amazes me the tech ability people on here have...
As far as I know the ECU only requires an amp or two to run... did someone forgot to charge a battery or more serious problem..?

Click this you might be dumb? So that'll be carbon fibre mudguards and huggers then? Mm billet top yoke and CNC machined rear sets, better get saving.

Apness, we ran the V2 megasquirt which looking back, was a mistake, the V1 at present is more stable as it has had far more development, so would have been better. The problem stemmed from originally we modified the charging circuit so we could turn it on or off, cos with it off, it saps less power from the engine. It seems some dumb ape didn't do their job correctly and knackered something involved with the charging. We eventually found out that the V2 ECU needs 13 - 14 volts to run correctly, but as we had to run total loss on the battery, with the engine running, we never had more than 10.2 volts. Cos the ECU wasn't getting the voltage it required, it kept on loosing syncronisation between the cam and crank sensors at all sorts of other weird stuff. The V2 ecu is so unbelievably sensitive, everything has to be perfect for it to run properly, and less than ideal earths or noise in the wires will result in it spitting it's dummy out. Until the V2 has more development, the V1 is better. Still, we'll probably go with a motech next year me thinks.....
Yoda, quite possibly....... :-)

Oh, and while I think on, the cooling was handled by one of my gizmos, and used a TDM 850 radiator on a GSX-R 600 engine. So it looks like they can fit anything!!! LOL

Well, started work on this year's car. Continuing development on the mega paperweight (found the rectifier had fried itself) and might get rid of the crank and cam sensors and throw on a missing tooth wheel on the crank cos that is a far easier setup and will get rid of the synchro problems. Also running a power commander on another engine, as this will work, the paperweight might still have problems.....
Also working on the theory of "if your not cheating, your not trying" so the chassis may well become pressurized and basically be a giant nitrous cannister.........
