It is a dangerous road whether you know it or not and ESPECIALLY if you dont know it.
There are off camber right handers, narrowing radius corners that suck you in, blind switchbacks. Oh and sometimes you get sheep in the road too. Add that to heros on the wrong side of the road and it's all fun. Get it wrong and the runoff is a dry stone wall.
Police usually park in the 2 laybys (left hand side) on the way up and at the top. Radar points down the long nearly straght towards Buxton. And on a sunday late morning there are alomst certain to be police around.
On th way down, remember you'll have cold tyres on those first few bends.
I stay on my own side of the road unlike whoever took that video.
On an exup, use 2nd and 3rd gear to keep the back end taut. 4th gear and the bike will be leary.

Now that's a road. Gutted I can't make it. Go easy on it guys, Police, sheep, deadly cambers and corners, all while your ragging the nuts off ya bike. Sounds like tricky stuff. I just hope the weather doesn't throw in it's two pence worth just to make things even worse. Lets get some decent photos up on here afterwards so the lads that can't make it can see all your pale vacant looks after riding what looks to be a fast scary road. Be safe and have a great time.

Sounds very much like the run I do up to Hawes, except there's regular tractors muck spreading on the road (why they don't spread on the fields is beyond me) and the roads are more like dirt tracks in places, especially one part over the mores which has a proper uphill hairpin 1st gear or you're on the other side of the road before you stall! Don't think there are any smooth bits either, save those with cow shit or road kill on. Looking forward to C&F, will bear in mind the points about the straights - I'm in it for the corners
