Just wondering if you lot can give me any advise on what to use, i usually use silicon stuff but now i have a missile shall i be using the standard dot stuff and which one would be best cheers Dave

You can buy DOT4 *VERY* cheap from Unipart trade counters (I use Partco in Stockport)

How long has it been in your dad’s garage? It deteriorates with time ( re-new every two years) and as your putting it in your flying rocket I would be tempted to buy some new fluid………

Brake fluid is hydroscopic, so once opened it starts to absorb moisture from contact with the air. DOT5 is too high a spec for normal road use, and it also needs changing every year, unlike DOT4 which will last around 3 years between changes.
