looking for a damper rod tool, dont know much about them, if theres a universal one or anything so any help appreciated.

Maybe we can have a run out to K2 one sunday and see what they use? If we get an idea, I'm sure if you asked Dangerous Dave nicely next time we see him, he might be able to fabricate something for you possibly?

I've heard it said that them hollow spark plug wrenches are a good starting piont.

If it's for an USD for then I just wrap some electrical tape under the nut and stick the ends together whilst it's still clean. Then thread the spring and collar over it.
It's only for pulling the rod up through the spring after all.
For a RWU, I use an old bottom yoke and take the bottom nut out with an air impact wrench, whilst compressing the fork i.e. upside down, with the stanchuin clamped in the yoke.
