I put a new (R6 06-07) shock on my 1000EXUP and it's great in that it now holds a line very well whereas before it was a bit leary.
Slight problem is that the front is doing slightly weird things. It's like it's bouncing when I'm going into a downhill bend with some bulges in the road. But I don't think it's underdamped as I'm almost on max settings (YZF750 fully adjustable forks).
Any suspension experts point me in the right direction?

have you got a tie wrap round one fork slider that way you can see where its diving to when braking hard

Yes Dave, it's about 20mm from the end of travel, so I'm using most of the travel.
I have always had this problem on this particular piece of road just trying to work out if there's anything I can do.

Fork is compressing too quickly but not rebounding enough. Either try another line of preload and one click rebound or put another 15ml of oil in each fork.

Or up the compression damping and back off the rebound?

I cocked up on previous post. You'll need to knock the rebound down one, if you up the preload, otherwise it'll come back too quick. Try more preload. That should stop it compressing too much. I think because your rears stiff, its making the front dive. Perhaps new springs might be needed? But if your buying a Gixer, surely you don't want to spend any more time on this bike?

This is Sports Riders 06 suspension recommended settings for the rear shock.
Preload:position 3 of 8 Rebound:2 clicks out from full stiff Compression:Slow-speed: 14 clicks out from full stiff; High-speed: 9 clicks out from full stiff.
You've already got the front PB YZF750 settings. This could be down to feel/weight of bike maybe. I think if you've now got your baseline, try one thing a click at a time.

Err. There's not a lot standard about my bike Chris.
I think I've got a pretty good setting it's just the front's got a bit loose with putting the heavily spring short stroke R6 shock on the back (which is meant to work with a much different linkage). It's robably just a balance thing.
I've stuck a bit more preload on the front and backed off the rebound. I recon it will be pretty good (if it stops raining tonight I'll try it)
