Watching WSB at Kyalami got me brain cells working. So dug out me old Superbike games. But I'm gutted. Fust one won't load on XP, so I can't play at Jamie Whitham, and 3rd one with best graphics won't run, have tried everything graphic setting wise, just get sound. But 2000, 2nd one runs and its the shit one where the bikes were difficult to control. So I'm only able to run at amateur level at moment, but I'm racing without qualifying, starting dead last but finishing top 3. So not so bad, thrashing the nads offa YZF R7.

just set it for no crashes i did but still used run to off the track yea my 2002 version wont work either it always did on windows 98 There is an unofficial download available to get it to run in XP. patch Install game but don't run it just yet. Down load this file to my documents. Extract all files and run patch. Then set your display to 16 bit. Using windows explorer find the superbike folder on your C: drive. Open folder and there'll be a superbike 2001/20002 symbol as in superbike.exe. Right click and choose properties then compatability mode. Click on the 98/me compatability button. Exit and launch game. When games loaded go into sound options and make sure EAX and A3D are disabled, mine were automatically. Exit back to start of game and away you go. This patch has worked for some trying to run 2002. Evidently I was lucky SBK2000 ran at all. Anyway I've set a 1.27.508 at Donnington riding Edwards' RC51. For those not pc literate there is SBK 08 and SBK 09 out. 09 has just come out but is on ebay for £20 and Amazon for slightly less. If your shite with pc's avoid SBK 08 like the plague. Only 50% of people who bought the game can get it to run on XP pc's. Not sure about Vista, it all seems to be XP who have a problem. Once I get payed I'm buying the Vista optimised for windows 09 to run on XP as the graphics are enhanced for DX10 and look better. gameplay PC version Looks promising but its still not a real bike.

Well bit the bullet and bought SBK 09. Got myself an X box controller for the PC as well. All in from Play.com cost about a fiver more than the game costs in Virgin. Its easier to race the bike than previous SBK games. Your not so prone to losing the front. Massive power slides on the R1 though. Racing as Corser on the BMW at moment as its an easier bike to control and still learning circuits as there is some new ones. Pity it doesn't include the WSS bikes, as I wouldn't mind thrashing a R6 around. Graphics are a bit Play station/ X box. But it runs smooth and fast, no glitches and realism is much better. On video replay the tyres are oval this time round. Anyway keeps me biking sorta.
