It truly sadens me that no-one has mentioned the ferrari of bikes to yoda. I mean come on, you can pick them up for good money and they always take care of you with solid handling and great grunt. Yeah they're not the fastest, but then I've never met anyone yet who can ride a jap bike to it's fullest potential. I've just come back from the continent having ridden 2000 miles in a week. The red lady purred all the way with no sniffles, can't say the same for the jap bikes that came along. So come on Yoda, don't just dismiss them outright - think Ducati.

I'm not dismissing them John. The 848 is one of the best handling roads bikes out there. It stacks up against the latest Gixer thou and R1. Impressive indeed seeing as it handles better than its big brother. Nope waiting to see if Andy gets this bike, then I'll have a butchers.

Went in the Suzuki dealers yesterday. They've got an 09 750 Gixer ex demo, with just 150 miles on the clock, for just under 7 grand on the road. They also had a white brand new 750 but thats £8,500 on the road. What did interest me was the 09 thou with Yoshi pipes on, but it was £10,600. I'm waiting to see what the new 2010 R1 looks like in the flesh in blue/white as these were my favourite colours on the 08 R1, gold wheels and gold forks. But I'm quietly impressed with the Gixer. 2% APR over 3 years with a £1000 minimum deposit. And no I've not won the lottery, but have something jobwise in the pipeline.

That's only one per month and they're only £60-70 each.
The way I figure it, I aint going to get a decent run out on the road until the clocks go forward because midday traffic is to heavy for a ride to be any fun, so this keeps me on the bike.
I've got wets on wheels, so weather's not really an issue (apart from it being miserable).
It's been pretty dry here.
I'm really surprised you've not signed up for a trackday on Anglesey Al, what with it being right on your doorstep.

At Oulton, there were quite a few people turning up on the day and getting a place due to peple crashing out.
So if it's a nice day, get down there with your driving license and see if they've got space.

This is doing my head in. Good GSXR750's are fetching more than the Gixer thou's in some bike shops. K5/6 1000 is ridiculus money, you can get a K7 for similar spend. There are loads of K1/2 1000's about, but its finding a low mileage one. I've even considered a K4 600 as it wasn't stupid money.

Found myself a nice K4 Gixer 750. Minor accident damage, and very reasonably priced. BUT work will not give me overtime to buy a bike and the wife has asked me to edit the above post, in a sort of roundabout way. As she is the only one who knows the account online passwords, I'm a bit fu**ed at the moment.
